1 - 7 March 2009 Fishing Report

Early week will be over cast and maybe thunderstorms. Mid week will be sunny and the weather will be changing from day to day over the weekend.

Best Fishing Days:

Mid Week from Tuesday to Thursday..

Cape Vidal:
Tides will be high  early in the morning  with low tides moving to  after midday.  Bay area  early  in the morning  and late afternoon. Sunset live bait north of the  bay  area.  Small  bait and light  tackle  around the  bay.  Should be  plenty  Carenteen  and Halfbeaks. 

Mission Rocks:
From mid morning to midday until tide starts pushing. From Thursday neap tide will step in and rock fishing will be uncomfortable for light tackle anglers.

St. Lucia Estuary:
North from Marker 4 to iMfolozi River in the South. Plenty mole crabs and some Grunter. Use Three Spot(Wave  Garrick)  for  live bait on sliding swivel.  Light  tackle around the gullies  between  tides  or  on  high  tides.
Current Conditions:
iMfolozi came down in flood. Water could be dirty until about Wednesday.

Richardsbay:
Pelican Island left pier Ski Boat Club side for Turbo Scad. Right hand pier between pier and shaky rocks towards the beginning of the pier all the way to the end of the pier. The beach area with light tackle early morning and late afternoon. T-Jetty and Commercial launch with Yussuri Jigs or drift bait. Short Pier light and heavy tackle early morning and late afternoon.



Neap Tide Weekend

Weekend
Overcast days ill make for good fishing days... only Friday night could be rainy.

Saturday and Sunday will be excellent fishing. Dark waters leads to dark baits for drop shot and deep sea anglers.
