3.5 Kg Yellow Fin Bream Richards Bay

Fishing in Richards Bay has been very rewarding this year to date. All evidence from past three years suggested that the prolonged closure of St Lucia Estuary Mouth has lead to a decline in Recreational anglers successful catches of this migrating species.

Good catches of this specie has been reported since late 2013 since the Ocean and St Lucia Estuary was been re connected with a small channel allowing Prawn to populate the sand banks and for juvenile fish to enter the system and sexually mature Adults to exit the system.

With this catch Akesh proved that Nature is robust and only needs a little nudge every now and then to sustain itself.
