- The latest publicly readable KZN fishing coverage located for this issue reported that South Coast garrick, kingfish and quality bottom fish continued to feature, with Aliwal Shoal producing action whenever weather windows allowed.
- The same wider KZN report described baitfish activity attracting predators and noted that shad, kob and garrick were active in suitable conditions. These are regional observations, not a verified same-morning catch tally for every Upper South Coast mark.
- No independently verified same-day Amanzimtoti-to-Scottburgh catch report or confirmed sardine-netting update was available at issue time. Treat baitfish or sardine references as unconfirmed locally unless observed by anglers on site.
- Given the forecast, prioritise safety over fishing effort. Wednesday appears the most plausible opportunity in this five-day window, subject to the actual shorebreak, wind, visibility and access.
