Abbott van Rooyen Memorial Snoek Derby 2010

Venue: St. Lucia Ski Boat club
When: 7 to 8 August 2010

INVITATION - ENTRY FORM - PROGRAM & RULES

  1. Briefing at St Lucia Ski Boat clubhouse on Friday 06TH AUGUST 2010 at 19h00.

  2. Competition is limited to 35 boats on first come first serve basis.

  3. Pre-Entrance fee is R400.00 per angler (closing date 09TH July 2010) and late entries (10th July 2010 - to 06th August 2010) will be R450.00 per angler. The competition is open to all anglers. All participants to have paid entrance fees by Friday night’s briefing. You are welcome to park your boat over night. Security will be provided.

  4. Meal tickets will be handed to participants at Friday’s registration for the Saturday evening (happy-hour on the deck) and Sunday lunch. Wives and children welcome to attend Sunday lunch at an extra cost on the day. The restaurant and bar will be open.

  5. Unlimited anglers per boat. No joy riders or non-angling skippers will be allowed.

  6. Launching will take place from St Lucia launch site (Umfolozi River Mouth) alternatively as directed by beach control. Please ensure that your vehicle is equipped and capable of beach launching. Launching on both days is at first light. Please contact the launch controller before launching.

  7. Beach Control and Call up - Skippers to report back once behind back line. All skippers will be required to sign the launch register on a daily basis before launching and on return.

  8. Weigh-in on Saturday 07th between 11h00 and 15h00 and Sunday the 08th between 11h00 and 13h30. . No extensions will be granted. All fish must be at the gantry latest 15h00 on Saturday and on Sunday at 13h30 to avoid disqualification.

  9. Open line class. Bag limits will apply. No spear fishing and or diving equipment except wetsuits are allowed. NO WIRE LINE ALLOWED AND NO VERTICAL JIGGING

  10. All fish caught belongs to the angler.

  11. Only Snoek will count towards the main prizes.

  12. KZN Wildlife rules and regulations will apply.

  13. Points - 10 points per kg. A minimum weight of 3kg will apply.

  14. Prize giving will take place after weigh-in on Sunday.

  15. Lunch to be served after the prize giving.

  16. A swindle will be in operation for the heaviest Game fish – R250.00 per boat. All participants in the swindle must pay Friday Night. The swindle is to be divided and awarded to the boat with the heaviest game fish on each day. NO BILLFISH WILL BE WEIGHED.

  17. Anglers will be competing for cash prizes to the value of R20,000.00 There will be ladies and junior prizes and many more up for grabs.

  18. Lucky draws on briefing night – and happy hour on Saturday evening.

  19. A storms Committee to be elected if necessary (Safety Officer plus 2 Members from the Committee)

  20. In the event of any dispute, the Committee’s decision will be final.

  21. Security guards will police Club grounds for overnight parking. Only tow vehicle and trailer allowed at Club grounds. Please remove all valuables and adhere to traffic officer.

  22. All boats must display sea worthy discs and skippers must possess valid skippers tickets.

  23. Skippers and crew must comply with new fishing legislation re: fishing permits, license’s, bag and size limits.

  24. Only 15 minutes per boat at wash bay please.
